Daintree Walkabout

Get in touch with this unique experience

FROM

Daintree, Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge

Have the camera ready and prepare to tick one off the bucket list! The journey starts in Cairns and heads north up the Captain Cook Highway along one of the most impressive coastal drives in the world. Enjoy photo-worthy views over the golden beaches, offshore islands and the glittering Great Barrier Reef to the east, while admiring the rainforest-covered mountains on the west. Short on time? Then this trip is the best way to see the diverse Cairns region. Check out the southern section of the Daintree Rainforest at the Mossman Gorge Gateway Centre. Go on a walk through the rainforest with a local indigenous guide. Bring walking shoes and an umbrella just in case.. it is a rainforest remember! Lunch is at the Daintree Tea House for locally caught Barramundi (other options are available). After lunch, board a boat to explore the Daintree and its wide array of intriguing plants and creatures and hopefully spot a croc in the wild. This is the best opportunity to see the sometimes elusive predator in its natural habitat with the help of the expert guide. Next is celeb-spotting, with a tour through the iconic tourist destination, Port Douglas. Big names such as Bill Clinton, Mick Jagger, Claudia Schiffer, Tom Hanks and John Travolta; and many lesser known Australian stars have been spotted in the palm-fringed tropical town at one point or other… fingers crossed! The tour wraps up and heads south to Cairns along the coastal drive.
