Kuranda Village, Scenic Rail and Skyrail

Chill out in the quaint mountain village Kuranda and discover the natural beauty of Far North Queensland’s world heritage listed rainforest. Start the day on the old school railway, traveling 328 metres above sea level from Cairns to Kuranda through dense tropical rainforest. Zen out and enjoy the relaxed hippy vibe in Kuranda with free time to explore the town known for its souvenirs, arts and crafts and indigenous artifacts – a unique gift for friends and family left behind at home. Go hug a koala or meet some of the other colourful, unusual and cuddly animals at the local attractions on offer, including the Butterfly Sanctuary, Koala Gardens, Birdworld and the Aviary – discount entry for Tropical Horizon’s passengers. Around midday, board the Skyrail. Make sure the camera batteries are charged and immerse all senses, gliding above the tropical rainforest canopy. Catch views of the greater Cairns region and impressive Coral Sea and Great Barrier Reef – a great instagram opportunity!
